Energy Performance Certificates
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of a property, providing recommendations to enhance its energy performance. Since October 2008, it is mandatory for all homes being sold or rented out to have an EPC, and the energy ratings must be displayed on the Property Particulars.
The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) provides potential buyers and tenants with information on a building’s energy efficiency and offers recommendations for enhancing its performance. Buildings are assigned ratings ranging from A to G, with A being the most energy-efficient. Residential and commercial properties that must achieve a rating of A to E. If a property is rated F or G and is not exempt, steps must be taken to improve its energy performance.
